The Richard Bosco Memorial Scholarship Information

The Richard Bosco Memorial Scholarship was established by alumni, family, friends, and colleagues in honor of Richard Bosco, an alumnus of Geneseo, who died in the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center.  The Richard Bosco Memorial Scholarship is based on demonstrated leadership and  the potential for success.

Related Information/Requirements:
 

a.       The Richard Bosco Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time School of Business Junior who has a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 at the start of the Spring semester.  Student applicants must be returning to Geneseo to earn their bachelor’s degree.

b.      Additional criteria for selection include the potential for leadership and success, which may be demonstrated through involvement in extracurricular activities, participation in athletics, work experience, and community service.

c.       Students wishing to apply for the scholarships will be required to submit, by March 1, the application form, a current resume, a current unofficial transcript, and a one page “Personal Statement” essay on college activities and aspirations after graduation.

d.      Selection of the scholarship recipient will be completed by the School of Business Scholarship Committee.

The 2005 Recipient of the Richard Bosco Memorial Scholarship was Ernest B. Hinman.  Ernest will be graduating in the Spring of 2006 and has a a dual major in Business Management and Philosophy.  His immediate plans after Geneseo are on attending law school.  Ernest is actively involved in the Undergraduate Alumni Association (UAA) and serves on the Executive Council.  We wish Ernest the best in his future endeavors!

The 2006 Recipient of the Richard Bosco Memorial Scholarship was Kristen Johnson.  She will be graduating in May 2007.   She is a dual major in Business Management and Computer Science and has accepted a position at M&T Bank going through their Management Development Program that starts in July. She is currently the Vice President of the School of Business here at Geneseo.
